The Case for Direct Democracy
In many democratic countries, and the United
Kingdom in particular, there is a general feeling that
governments have their own agendas and take little account of
the wishes of the people. For instance, many British people
never wanted or agreed to mass immigration, the ruinous energy
policy, and many other issues besides. Why should this be?
The UK democratic system works by electing representatives, who make pledges but they do not keep them once elected (they laugh). None can be elected without loadsamoney, and the elected representatives get elected on credit from rich manipulators and pay back with favours.
Frankly, the democratic system is dysfunctional. The UK needs direct democracy, where the people express their will, and skilled administrators (possibly with AI) get it done (or else!).
The existing absurd and non-democratic House of Lords would be a good place to start with reforming the system. More here…
